The market is filled with different types of flash drives promising different features and specs. 10Gbps is the new normal in the flash drive market. I have used, reviewed, and marketed a lot of flash drives in the past. This time, I got a review unit from a brand called OSCOO. The name of their new flash drive is T10. Design-wise, I liked its compactness and durable body. It comes in only one colour i.e. Golden and has a Zinc Alloy body.
This flash drive comes with a 2-in-1 connector interface i.e. USB-A and Type-C (OTG). However, the software interface is the USB 3.2 Gen 2 with a maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps. The brand claims to have a maximum read speed of up to 1100 MB/s and a write speed of up to 1000 MB/s. We will see some benchmark scores later in our review to see what you can expect from it.
It comes in three storage capacities i.e. 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. I have received the 1TB variant for this review. The drive’s dimensions are 73.2/22.12.68mm and it weighs around 46 gms. It comes with a 3D TLC flash, which is good considering the market is filled mostly with many QLC flash drives. It is a Plug-n-Play drive just like other popular drives that doesn’t require any drivers.

The packaging is pretty good. Inside the box, we get a user manual, the drive itself with a hanging string, and the casing.

The slider mechanism of this flash drive enables us to use it on both USB Type-A and Type-C ports. This is beneficial when we have to connect our drive to our smartphones or tablets. Moving data between mobile devices and computers can be really easy with this flash drive.
Pros and Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Compact and Robust design | 3-Years Warranty |
Capacity up to 2TB | No bundled software for backup, recovery, or data management |
3D TLC NAND Flash | No password protection and encryption features available |
Dual-Interface (Type-C/USB-A) |
Everything else about this drive is fine. The 3-year warranty is also acceptable. It has a good performance, TLC NAND flash, and a great design. The first thing I didn’t like was that there was no bundled software with which we could manage our data or use features like backups. We’ll have to rely on our operating systems or smartphones. Also, it would have been great if the drive came with password protection and some sort of encryption. The company can work on increasing the largest storage variant to at least 4TB because there is a serious demand for high-capacity flash drives.
Theoretical Specifications
The availability of this drive would depend on your geographical location because the brand has made it available only in the B2B market. You won’t be able to buy it online from the official website as well till now. The drive is surely a little heavy because of the metallic body. The working temperature is up to 70 degrees Celsius, which is fine for a flash drive. The drive doesn’t reach that temperature, as I found in my tests. Below are all the important specifications for you to know.

Design and Build
Zinc Alloy gives this drive a strong build that gives you a feel that you are holding something. This also protects the drive from accidental drops and rough handling i.e. traveling or outdoor shoots. I would be looking for the scratches on the body after some usage. The design seems well-thought with a smooth sliding experience to and from both sides.

Being the portal storage mediums, the flash drives are required to be compact. Now, because this drive is also focused on smartphones and other mobile computing devices, I found it good in terms of build but a little heavier if you like to keep light flash drives in your pocket. In the market, you can easily find metallic flash drives weighing 40 gms. However, I don’t find it as big of a problem.
Another thing I want to talk about is the functionality. Again, there are many other two-in-one flash drives on the market, but most of them just have two connectors on both ends. This one comes with a sliding mechanism which is great. The thing I liked about it particularly is that the mechanical movements are pretty smooth and the switch locks firmly in its place.
Benchmarks
I am pretty impressed with the performance because when I took it through a 1GiB Q8T1 test, the sequential performance came out to be close to the advertised speed. There were no serious heating issues even during heavy read/write operations.

I ran it through some other tests like the Blackmagic and Anvil Pro, and the results were almost similar. With a flash drive, we mainly focus on the peak scores because we generally work with sequential data. But, I tested the random numbers as well, and they came out to be pretty decent. So, you will be able to move bigger files even with random data, pretty quickly.
Conclusion
I believe this flash drive would make anybody happy with its performance, design, and build. However, there are some issues that we discussed earlier like the warranty, encryption, and software support. If the brand works on those things, it would lead this drive near to being a perfect product.
